Abstract:
The article deals with the role of personality and impersonality in modern Russian syntax. This opposition is systematically correlated to the sentences having / not having the subject. The analysis of the Russian language material is conducted against the background of English and Hungarian syntax. As a result, personality / impersonality is proved to be a multifunctional category revealing both the peculiarity of the Russian language world picture and the distinctive features of Russian syntax.
