Abstract:
This article deals with two aspects of gender specificity of metaphors in political discourse. Firstly cultural differences in conceptualization of politics are taken into consideration. It's argued that metaphorical masculinization of «Other» dominates Western political discourse, while metaphorical feminization of «Other» prevails in Asian political discourse. The other aspect of gender specificity of political metaphors is the domination of male frames in the comprehension of politics.
