Abstract:
A wide amplitude of linguistic variation within texts assigned to one and the same genre causes difficulties in their identification and delimitation if investigation is confined to their materials only. The concept of genre structured as an aggregation of five communicative variables is considered in the present article with relation to the genres of British media discourse.
