Abstract: The given article reflects the main stages of the research devoted to the evolution analysis of the national linguistic thought in the first half of the 20th century. The analysis was made in historical-epistemological framework and therefore was based on the conceptual system of epistemological coor-dinates. The peculiarities of gradual transfer from comparative historical paradigm to structuralism within the studies of the main linguistic schools of the beginning of the last century are shown in the ar-ticle. The role of ideological factor in linguistics is analysed.
