Abstract:
The article presents an overview of several modern approaches to psychophysical issues and points out the importance of research on body and mind interaction for linguistic studies. Research of the role of the human body and sense experience is taking centre stage in today's science. The results of several modern inquires suggest human psychic and physical entities are similar. The application of this view to language studies allows an assumption that word meanings retain their presentive and sensitive basis in an individual vocabulary and may be reduced to an initial image.
