ON TEACHING RUSSIAN GRAMMAR AND VOCABULARY IN VIEW OF THE NATIONAL WORLD PICTURE

Abstract: 
Language's ability of reflecting extralinguistic reality makes for the national world picture which should be taken into account in the process of language teaching. The article examines the link between lexical, morphological and syntactic phenomena, on the one hand, and the peculiarities of the Russian world picture, such as the semantic universals of time, space and cause, on the other. The data borrowed from Russian are being compared to that of other languages.
