COGNITIVE DISSONANCE AS A FACTOR OF A CONFLICTING DISCOURSE

Abstract: 
The article focuses on structural-semantic characteristics of conflicting discourse which implies reference to its participants' cognitive basis. Analysis shows that conflicting interaction comes to being when there is a collision of the communicants' basic concepts, the cognitive dissonance being accounted for by breaches in cognitive limits set to the information and pragmatic principles of discourse forma-tion.
