Abstract
Three major trends of oral business discourse in general are grounded and specified as 'informa-tive / argumentative', 'fatic' and 'directive / regulative'. A new multifold discourse tactics model of communicative competence is proposed. This communicative competence model splits into a number of subcompetences, correlated to different species of oral business discourse. Each of the latter is to be modelled on the basis of dicourse practice analysis and to be described in terms of cognitive and dis-course units (speech tactics and tactical moves correspondently), further on regarded as units of lin-guistic didactics as well.

Keywords:  oral business discourse, communicative competence, illocutionary act, speech tactics, tactical moves
