Abstract:
The main object of the article is the mechanic metaphor, widely accepted in modern culture, which is studied from the integrative, cognitive-semantic point of view. The article vigorously supports the idea that only the conscious metaphoric choice can shed light on the intuitive way of creativity, thus filling gaps in the logical and rational methods of cognition. In order to discover new ways of describing concepts, it is necessary to overstep the limits of the deeply rooted mechanical model of vision.
