Abstract
Usage of the concepts "image of the world" and "picture of the world" in modern Arts is charac-terised by inconsistency. Some researchers believe these terms to be similar, others consider their hie-rarchical relations. This topic being extremely popular, the necessity has arisen to put in order the usage of these two terms so as to ensure their consistent interpretation in different scientific works. This article provides a model of the image of the world as an aggregate of pictures of the world. Upon comparing this model with image of the world models by other authors, a conclusion is made that it is appropriate to use this model as a key model for researching language consciousness and image of the world.
