Abstract
The author analyzes educational discourse and its boundaries, using the language of the UK high school as a research data. This article examines the state of change in this type of discourse. The author defines two extremes: first, the transition from the primary to secondary school discourse and, second, from high school to college or other postsecondary educational discourse. The discursive features, rep-resenting the margins of the discourse varieties, serve as differentiators of the discourse. The author es-tablishes the characteristics of the discourse and contributes to the building of a descriptive model for the educational discourse.
