Abstract:
The article is an attempt to develop on cognitive basis the ideas of Ch. Bally, disciple of
F.de Saussure, concerning the implicit motivation of the language sign. The cognitive approach to this problem is founded on ethnic and cultural particularities of structuralization and conceptualization of the objective reality. The cognitive structures of implicitly motivated lexical signs and their paradig-matic and syntagmatic properties such as reference to thematic groups, hyper-hyponimic units, syno-nymic sets and semantic isotopy are studied.
Keywords: arbitrariness, explicit and implicit motivation, structuralization, conceptualization, propositional-frame structure, paradigmatics, syntagmatics, actualization.
