Abstract: 
Russian terminological system «Computer» is analyzed from several perspectives as a linguistic object representing knowledge of the world and language. It is pointed out that conceptual import from the English conceptual sphere into the Russian one is the cognitive basis of the Russian terminological system formation and development. Factors of the Russian linguistic world model dynamics caused by the development of the terminological system «Computer», are revealed. The extension of folk knowledge represented by the terminological system speaks of the ordinary native speaker's perception of this domain.
