Abstract:
The article describes the process of meaning formation of derivatives formed from proper names with the help of cognitive models and cognitive mechanisms (perspective, composition, completion, elaboration and de-focusing). Knowledge evoked by a proper name is considered as matrix knowledge or cognitive matrix consisting of interconnected cognitive contexts. The article shows the reference of derivatives from proper names to the category of evaluative words that may be considered as means of evaluative categorization.
