Abstract
The paper deals with the problem of conceptual modeling of phraseological semantics. The cognitive mechanisms of constructing phraseological meaning as well as the peculiarities of the process of phrase-formation are described in the given paper. The paper sets out to show that conceptual bases of semantics of phraseologisms denoting one and the same phenomenon of the objective reality are multidimensional mental formations the link between which is provided by a "system" of particular conceptual structures (or conceptual constituents). The paper also focuses on the elaboration of the notion of "conceptual space". A new approach to the establishment of cultural peculiarities of a language system is outlined.

Keywords:  phraseologism, conceptual basis, conceptual metaphor, verbal communication, concept, conceptual space.
