Abstract: 
The article focuses on changes in human thinking (constructive and destructive) that are associ-ated with globalization and fundamental transformation of sociocultural environment in developed societies. An attempt to answer the question about the benefits and dangers to human thought and culture as a result of information availability and phenomena of consumption is made.
