ADJECTIVES, DESCRIBING A MAN: ETYMOLOGY AND SEMANTICS

Abstract:  The author of the article undertakes the attempt of complex investigation of the problem of semantic development of archaic roots of adjectives in the Yakut language, describing character of a man.

The author investigated and reconsructed the semantic evolution of the words on the base of etimological researches of contemporary Turkish and Mongolian languages and literary and dialectal vocabulary of contemporary Yakut language.
Taking into consideration the etimological-semantic features of the adjectives, describing charac-ter of a man the author believes that appearence and development of the archaic adjectives of Yakut language have a Turkish origin.
