Abstract:
The article focuses on cognitive mechanisms of formation of communicative tonality (metaphor, conversational implicatures and so on). It is argued that communicative tonality is one of the most im-portant appraisal means that allows to define it as modus or interpreting category. Language means of representing tonality are analyzed at different language levels including phonosemantic level, phonosemantic tonality being defined.
