Abstract:
The article deals with cognitive aspects of mother-child communication. The notion of communi-cative practice is proposed as one of communicative competence components. It is argued that commu-nicative competence can be considered as individual's ability to recognize a complex of a partner's communicative verbal and non-verbal actions as a part of his orienting behavior and to be able to react to it appropriately.
