Abstract
The article deals with the problem of interpretative function of linguistic cognition. The author considers lexical categories as ground knowledge for modus categories which appear as a result of in-terpretation in the course of conceptual derivation. The formats of knowledge (functional, perceptional, experiential) of the lexical categories of artifacts, natural substances and natural phenomena as an in-terpretative basis for corresponding conceptualization areas are brought in focus.
