Abstract
The purpose of the research is the prospect for further implementation of the conceptual meta-phor in order to reveal the specific nature of linguo-cognitive modeling of a matter for scientific inquiry in scientific discourse. Оrganic components of scientific discourse are conditions of interaction and a system of cognitive attitude which define different aspects of text production.
The methodology of the research is based on the theory of conceptual metaphor proposed by La-koff, Johnson and represents the concept of the linguistic world-image and its discourse realization.
Metaphorical model is epistemological by its nature because it is based on analogy mechanism. The key findings of the research allow to claim that Russian scientific discourse includes three types of conceptual metaphors: discourse-ontological, which models the space of scientific work; epistemological, which represents metaphorical hypothetic model of the study subject; communicative, which adapts a new model to cognitive capabilities of listeners. The process of ontologization of knowledge in Russian language scientific discourse is similar to general epistemological process: primary perception takes place by means of selection of a hypothetic model of the object of research – epistemological metaphor. The author of a scientific text appeals to models formed in the discourse, accomplishes choice of a relevant model and either specifies or transforms it in the framework of his text, forming his own vision. Text model is involved in different scientific texts; therefore it creates a paradigm model, which is realized in specific term system. In the course of acquisition such model ceases being hypothetic, loses its epistemological strain and later is included as an identifying element in new models.
