Abstract
Counter-argumentation being an essential part of argumentative interaction is viewed from the perspective of language usage as one of human abilities. There are two aims the article persues: 1) to research the entity of the feature "negative evaluation" in the discourse of refutation; 2) to describe the ways of negative evaluation realization in utterances with Counter-argumentation. Obviously, criticism and fallacies elicitation are specific features of Counter-argumentation. This assumes the possibility of critical thinking analysis. The article focuses on cognitive mechanism of Counter-argumentation on the basis of evaluating interpretation of appropriated knowledge. We consider argumentation as the process of knowledge appropriating, and this view has become the theoretical groundwork for the research. Following this idea, we revealed that argumentative interaction may be characterized as cognitive activity which is based on the interpretation of appropriated knowledge. Despite the fact that the process of reality perception is always subjective, the specific character of perception system consists of revealing distinctions and contradictions. Consequently, the cognitive mechanism of Counter-argumentation is connected with one of the main features of the concept NEGATION, which implies "absence" and "incompatibility". Language expressing of the negative evaluating in the discourse of re-futation is presented on lexico-morfological and syntactic levels.

Keywords:  counter-argumentation, discourse of refutation, evaluating interpretation, negative evaluating
