Abstract:
The article considers the role of adjectives in verbal nominalization in modern English and Lezghin languages. The aim of the article is to analyze the mechanisms of verbal analytical derivation in the mentioned languages. It deals with the problems of identification of analytical constructions of verb-adjective type as well as the status of analytical lexemes of the same type and cases of metaphoric interpretation of analytical verbal constructions in the given languages. The analysis is based on com-parative method as well as on descriptive and conceptual methods. The results of the research show quite the opposite relations between denotative fields: in English the main aspect is made by the action itself, and in Lezghin it is made by the quality of the action. The analysis of the English verbal derivation is restricted by transposition of the linguistic forms as well as homonymous forms of the adverb and the adjective, in Lezghin such problem does not occur as both the adverb and the adjective have a strict specific differentiation morphologically and grammatically. The results of the analysis can be applied to the theory of verb derivation in lectures in typology of the languages and cultures. The results do not give all the answers to the questions concerning the origin of some parts of speech. In a lingua-cultural aspect the given languages manifest the same processes of metaphorization within the second nomination.
