Abstract:
The article raised the problem of displaying language facilities which convey logically-meaning relations between concepts and opinions. They make the text coherent. It can be useful for researchers who are interested in peculiarities of different styles of texts.
The goal of popularizing scientific knowledge is one of the conditions of existing scientific-popular style. Language facilities, that make the texts simple and clear for understanding, are different. These differences correlate with the addressee’s level of perception, age and culturological background.
Facilities, which provide coherence of the text, are varied in structure and volume. They can be related to different levels of language – from word (demonstrative and personal pronouns, articles) to segments (for example – tenses). They have common function – providing coherence of the text. These facilities provide coherence between discreteness of thoughts and communicative function of the text. They provide conversion from the text for yourself to the text for reader.
Researching of coherent means in Russian, English and French gives the opportunity to assert that verbal and mental components in scientific-popular texts coincide irrespective of their national specific characters.
Different sets of language facilities are activated in certain communicative situations.
