Abstract

In the article the author reviews recent international publications in cognitive linguistics.
The aim of the article is to inform the reader of the new directions in cognitive linguistics at the international level; in particular, the focus is on recent terminology, methods of studying linguocognitive phenomena, new approaches to the phenomena already familiar. Special emphasis is laid on LCCM Theory, approaches to polysemy studies and quantitative methods in cognitive linguistics.
For the reader’s consideration are offered such notions as lexical concept and cognitive model, geometrical models in studying polysemy, quantitative methods in semantics research, Quantitative Multifactorial method, the issue of two-way influence of grammatical constructions and lexicon. The author explains the essence of the notions and states her opinion on the prospects and possibilities of further applying them.
The article being of informative nature is destined to help researchers keep pace with up-to-date directions in the field and define their own way of research.

Keywords:  lexical concept, cognitive model, geometrical scheme, Quantitative Multifactorial method, grammatical construction
