THE ROLE OF ENGLISH ACTIONAL VERBS WITH THE MEANING OF INTERPERSONAL INTERACTION IN EVALUATIVE INTERPRETATION OF EVENTS

Abstract:  The purpose of the study is to reveal the role of actional verbs with the meaning of interpersonal interaction in evaluative interpretation of events. When a person describes an event he can name the event as a process, action or state without paying attention to its aspects, or interpret it through its components (speed, manner, instrument etc.). It deals with different types of evaluation (rational and personal). 
Functional potential of actional verbs plays an important role in evaluative interpretation of events. It can be realized in actualization of its dictionary meaning, in secondary categorization (re-categorization) or in polycategorization. Functional potential can be realized with the help of such cognitive mechanisms as metaphor, metonymy and simile, which we describe and exemplify in the article. 
The research results in representing the ways of evaluative interpretation of interpersonal interaction.
