NATURE OF SENSE AND SENSIBILITY: THE HYPOTHESIS BASED ON THE ANALYSIS OF HUMAN LANGUAGE AND BIOLOGICAL EVOLUTION

Author:  V.S. Tsaplin

Abstract:  The article presents the linguistic analysis of the general manifestations of consciousness and sensations (feelings). The author concludes that they are inseparably connected or have a complete coincidence that can only be explained by assuming that the consciousness and sensation (feeling) are just different names for the same phenomenon.
The natural function of consciousness (sensation) is to create time delay of such duration that is sufficient to select the appropriate and adequate line of behavior when the nature of a stimulus does not look clear. This ability appeared in the process of evolution and had led to the emergence of Homo sapiens. Hence, in particular, the widespread belief about the abilities of animals deprived of consciousness, to feel anything is delusion.
The conclusion about the nature of consciousness does not contradict the previously stated assumption that intuition, emotion, mood, etc., are nothing more than different levels of conventional thinking.
