Abstract:
The subject matter of the article is revealing the national specifics of the concepts ҮЙЛЕНУТОЙЫ, WEDDING by a comparative – “layer-by-layer” analysis and the method of identifying lacunae. The objective is exposing the inadequacy of representation of knowledge and cultural-mental meanings in the structures of the concepts ҮЙЛЕНУТОЙЫ, WEDDING. Methodology: in the article on the basis of the anthropocentric, action-cognitive principles the author describes the normative concepts-rituals in different cultures, identifies the folk knowledge represented in their structure and accumulated by the ethnic groups in the process of their cognitive activity for several centuries. Research methods: a conceptual analysis, comparative-layer-by-layer analysis, a method for identifying lacunae.
Results: the author has come up to a conclusion that the rites “үйленутойы”, “wedding” can be interpreted as concepts, because they act as the quanta of folk knowledge; the author proves that these concepts are acting as cultural standards in various cultures differing from each other by the appropriate characteristics of the represented knowledge; with the help of layer-by-layer analysis the author identifies and describes the components of these concepts; it is shown that the uniqueness of these concepts in different cultures is due to the expression of their specific cultural meaning associated with the peculiarities of mentality of the people. The inadequacy of cultural meanings contributes to the cultural meaning of values. The identification of them has become possible only on the basis of the method of establishing the lacunae considering the matrix of commonalities and differences in terms of language, culture and behavior. Thus, a comprehensive analysis of normative concepts has allowed to determine the inadequate knowledge, the differences represented in the concepts ҮЙЛЕНУТОЙЫ, WEDDING.
