LINGVO-COGNITIVE RESEARCHES IN KAZAKHSTAN

Abstract:  The article gives a brief overview of the researches conducted in Kazakhstan on cognitive linguistics. As a result of selection, analysis and synthesis of information the overall picture appears, and also the background against which researches on cognitive linguistics are conducted is shown. 
Describing the current state of cognitive studies in Kazakhstan based on the reviewed material (not a complete list of works), we designate as a key issue the ways of using general cognitive mechanisms in the process of communication and cognition. 
Given the absence of the leading concept or leading scientific schools in the Republic of Kazakhstan, a huge reservoir of publications are grouped by the authors under the criterion of specificity in several blocks. They are: 1) bilateral (Russian-Kazakh) and polylingual conceptology; 2) the development of macro- and microstructure of bilingual/polylingual associative dictionaries and bilingual dictionaries of the names of concepts; 3) cognitive modeling; 4) the formation of metaphors and phraseological units; 5) the use of cognitive technologies in teaching.
