Abstract:  The target of this study is the peripheral zone of the fields verbalizing the concepts Russia and Germany. The scope of the study embraces the analysis of slogans, appeals and mottoes of the two countries. We focus the readers` attention on publicistic material of Russian and German Internet resources. The aim of the study is to identify and analyze the language strategies of parties and social movements. The authors describe the ways of the publicistic arsenal formation in peacetime and in the periods of tension in international affairs. They reveal the main sources of forming the Russian and German slogan fund. The authors use interdisciplinary methods and approaches. The linguists focus their attention on slogans because of the phenomenon of totalitarian language that forms special ideological thinking. The analysis of the language material presented in the article proves the existence of common mental components in the structure of the key slogans. The authors find common semantic dominants, such as ‘future’, ‘onward movement’, ‘children’, ‘business, not words’, ‘youth’, ‘negation of war’ and ‘national identity’. The collective monograph and electronic index of slogans are published on slovarn.ru. We plan the creation of special dictionary of slogans, appeals and mottoes of Russian and German parties and social movements.

Keywords:  the concept Russia, the concept Germany, slogans, appeals, mottoes.
