Abstract:  The article is devoted to the issue of academic knowledge organization modelling and studying a technical term as a systemic unit that is conceptually related to the adjacent technical terms within a definite language for special purposes. The analysis of the systemacy of technical terms in this respect is based upon the terminological semantic network modelling of a terminology taking into consideration the predefined principles of vertices differentiation that reflects the stratification of terms within a terminology according to the categories of the concepts that they express, as well as classification of semantic relations between them into types. The authors have drawn the examples of systemic organization of technical terms from the sphere of nanotechnology. We focus on the technical terms that express the categories “process”, “characteristic”, “locus” and argue that the peculiarities of the systemacy of a technical term to some extent depend on the nature of systemic relations and the category it belongs to. The authors define and analyze the most frequent and productive semantic relations that the technical terms of the given categories are likely to establish. The categories of the adjacent technical terms with which the given categories may potentially establish these productive relations are determined and studied.
