COGNITIVE-SEMANTIC ASPECTS OF THE VERBS WITH THE REFLEXIVE MARKERS IN RUSSIAN AND SCANDINAVIAN LANGUAGES

Abstract:  The article discusses cognitive-categorial aspects of Russian -ся verbs and Swedish models with reflexive markers – deponent verbs and voice forms with an agglutinative morpheme -s and phraseologically bound periphrastic turns with the reflexive pronoun sig in the 3 person singular / object forms of personal pronouns in the 1 and 2 person.
The aim of the article is to demonstrate that the differences in the categorial segmentation of verbal units with typologically similar reflexive markers in Russian and in Scandinavian languages, caused by systemic factors, are manifest in the cognitive content of the basic concepts. In Russian verbs with the particle -ся are lexical-grammatical which relates to word building. This is manifest in the variety of the meanings, connected to the semantics of verbal aspect and Aktionsarten. In Swedish synthetic and periphrastic models with reflexive markers differ in the interpretation of the process along the lines of conceptual categories of inactiveness/activeness.
Synthetic models with agglutinative markers in Scandinavian languages have an obvious structural-typological similarity with Russian reflexive verbs. However, the regular formation of the -s voice forms, as well as the retention of the periphrastic model with a reflexive pronoun encourage their orientation towards derivational morphology.

Keywords:  Scandinavian languages, voice, verbs with reflexive markers.
