Abstract:  The article discusses the peculiarities of representing the ARKHANGELSK concept in the memoir discourse.
The aim of the study is to identify and describe the content of the concept under consideration, formed by the authors of the memoirs while the American and British ships were in the port of Arkhangelsk and represented in their diaries.
The novelty of the study is that for the first time an attempt is made to reconstruct a fragment of the ARKHANGELSK concept on the basis of texts belonging to the genre of non-fiction diary and to study the features of the conceptualization of an object during a certain historical period in the framework of Linguistic Interpretation Theory.

The methods of the research include conceptual analysis and method of cognitive modelling. As
a result of analysis of the text material and conceptual analysis seven conceptual features of the ARKHANGELSK concept have been identified and described.
The results of the research can be used for further studying the process of conceptualization
of a location at a certain historic period.
