CONCEPT PRIVACY IN ENGLISH HYPERTEXT

Abstract: 
The paper aims to describe text models used for hypertext formation among English-speaking nations.
Hypertext is considered from the following perspectives: a) non-electronic printed text in contemporary literary communication, b) national ideas of text formation, c) concept PRIVACY as a key feature of English and American cultures. Thus, in this paper, hypertext is regarded as a complex of non-literary texts, namely Acknowledgments and About the Author, that accompany a fiction text published in the form of a printed book.
It is suggested that the content structure of such texts is regulated by English national ideas of how to write them. These ideas are based on the peculiarities of English culture, one of which is the respect for person’s private life.
In this framework, the author of the research applies the cluster approach to study the concept PRIVACY in English hypertext.
The results may contribute to contrast cross-cultural studies and literary discourse analysis.
