PECULIARITIES OF THE TOPONYMS GENESIS IN THE POLYCULTURAL SPACE OF THE SOUTH URAL

Abstract: 
The subject of this article is the study of the toponyms features in the multicultural cognitive space of the Southern Urals. The topic reflects the principles of describing the semantics of Russian and Turkic toponyms with explicit and hidden etymology, motivated and unmotivated oronyms, derivational features of oikonyms, as well as groups of hydronyms with ancient Turkic, Slavic and Bashkir roots.
The purpose of the work is to provide a theoretical and practical description and justification for the preservation of the rich toponymy of a unique multinational region, an attempt to explain through multiculturalism the deep cognitive and linguistic processes underlying the formation of a similar linguistic worldview among different peoples.
The main methods: etymological-comparative and stylistic analyses made it possible to determine the dynamics and direction of the term semantics development. Result: multiculturalism, recorded in the deep layer of vocabulary, contributes to the preservation of tolerance of the peoples inhabiting this territory. Scope: The presented material can be valuable for researchers in the field of cognitive linguistics, etymology of the language, historians and culturologists who are trying to clarify the issues of the genesis of individual peoples and cultures.
Conclusion: The toponyms represent a naive anthropomorphic view of the surrounding reality, being markers of the unique linguistic culture of the past. The properties of toponyms (in particular, oikonyms, hydronyms and oronyms) and their correlation with the material and spiritual heritage of the past are specific, taking into account the nomination process which is closely associated with cultural, ethnic, social, mythological and other characteristics of the peoples inhabiting the Ural region.
