WORD AS A SENSE-GENERATING ELEMENT IN THE PROTOTYPE THEORY (G. LAKOFF) AND IN THE NATURAL COMMUNICATIVE PROCESS

Author:  A.V. Vdovichenko

Abstract
The treatment of a lexeme both in the prototype theory, and in the natural communicative pro-cess is considered by the author in connection with the idea of verbal action made in the communicative space. In the prototypical interpretations one can find out the close connection between the cognition and the verbal data. That leads to theoretically determining the consciousness by the categories, the static character in understanding a linguistic phenomenon, the recognition of an impersonal language and an impersonal value, the elimination of the speaker. According to our view, in the natural communicative process the interpretation of a lexeme demands the concept of communicative action, i.e. the dynamic actual context in which the problem of coherent and isolated word meanings has a chance for a new interpretation.
