INTEGRATION OF THE MENTAL SPACES IN LEXICOGRAPHIC INTERPRETATION (as exemplified in the lexis of emotions in ideographic dictionaries)

Abstract:  The topicality of this research is based on developing the conception of compositionality and integrativity that are being viewed today mostly in the cognitive aspect.

The aim of this work is to show possibilities of mental integration interpretation in lexicographic parameters in ideographic dictionaries of the Russian language. The subject matter is methods of representation of complex poly-propositional semantics based on mental integration in different ideographic dictionaries of the Russian language: The big explanatory dictionary of Russian verbs, The Experimental Syntax Dictionary of Russian verbal sentences, The Big Explanatory Dictionary of the Synonyms of the Russian Speech “The concept sphere of the Russian language: key concepts and their representations in speech and language”.

The observational material contains dictionaries describing language and speech units with emotive semantics, i.e. emotive verbs, semantic models of verbal sentences, emotive synonyms and concepts.

As follows from the analysis of the dictionary entries we found out various decision options both common and specific to different dictionaries. Thus, a group of dictionaries has similar representation of mental spaces overlap in the names of ideographic sets that consist mostly of complex poly-propositional units, it also refers to describing typical semantics of the units in one set and the principles of combining the dictionary units. The Experimental Syntax Dictionary and The Dictionary of Key Concepts specific is accentuating special dictionary zones like “Compound models”, “Compound cognitive characteristic” modeled for representing mental integration. The Big Explanatory Dictionary of Synonyms gives similar information in the zone named “Prototype”.
