Abstract:
The present article deals with the principles of language structure of German autobiographical texts which are based on the retrospective activity of a narrator, who reconstructs his or her own past. Such an activity is a specific mental-cognitive process which presupposes the active implementation of the autobiographer's memory mechanisms. Particular attention is herein paid to linguostylistic interpretation of the ways in which functioning of the separate elements of human memory is reflected in this type of texts.
