Abstract:
The conceptual metaphor theory is widely spread in modern linguistics and applied to a broad variety of practical problems. Yet this theory evolves within several methodological frameworks. This paper reviews the problems that led to a number of modifications of the conceptual metaphor theory and covers contemporary approaches to cognitive metaphor analysis.
