Abstract: 
The paper focuses on the problems connected with Bible text as a precedent one in Russian and European fiction. Our work is devoted to such Old Testament precedent situation and its key concepts as Book of Ruth. The given article shows this precedent text as a linguistic and cross-cultural universal.
