Abstract:
In this article we consider the terminological determination of the information that participates in meaning formation, but is not included in initial meaning. The information actualized in derivative meanings is recognized by researchers. However, there is no distinct classification of its types. In this work we suggest differentiating irrelevant denotatum's features, background knowledge and connotations as separate types of the information. Defining the type of the non-linguistic information, actualized in a certain derivative meaning, is essential for the research of human cognitive operations mechanism.
