COGNITIVE STYLISTICS: A CURRENT DEVELOPMENT AND TOPICAL ISSUES

Abstract: 
The article concentrates on the theoretical problems of cognitive stylistics as a new interdiscipli-nary field of study in modern linguistics. A primary emphasis rests on the consideration of the issues such as a terminological nomination of the scientific field, relation between cognitive and traditional aspects of stylistics, foundations for development and key theoretical assumptions of cognitive stylistics, as well as a cognitive study of stylistic devices, representation of information (foregrounding, figure/ ground, inference) and cognitive-stylistic analysis of concepts.
