Abstract:
The article describes the process of meaning formation of appellatives formed from proper names with the help of the metaphtonymic model and cognitive mechanisms (perspective, de-focusing, composition, completion and elaboration). Knowledge evoked by a proper name is viewed as matrix knowledge or cognitive matrix combining cognitive contexts that help to interpret an appellative.
