ONOMASTIC CATEGORIES: CORRELATION OF LANGUAGE AND COGNITIVE STRUCTURES

Abstract: 
The article is devoted to comprehending the onomastic category that presents the result of our conceiving and interpreting personal names. It is proved that the system of the onomastic knowledge determines the nature and structure of the onomastic categories which on the language lever are objectified by the thematic classes and subclasses of onyms, and on the conceptual level – by the onomastic concept and its varieties.
