Abstract:  The paper considers the process of construing interpretative (evaluative) meanings on the basis of space knowledge as a manifestation of anthropocentric nature of language. Its aim is to disclose a multi-stage process of interconceptual links between the object of interpretation and characteristics of the SPACE concept. The main topic centers around the problem of language interpretative function and language anthropocentric nature.
In the article the authors present a method of cognitive modeling, which is based on cognitive mechanisms of relational profiling, conceptual integration and inference. These mechanisms are
activated, one by one, and finally a new (evaluative) meaning is construed. This meaning appears as
a result of a space adjective combination with a noun, denoting any aspect of such cognitive domains, as “man”, “society”, “nature”. The analysis of numerous English examples allowed to sum up that this multi-stage process of interconceptual links between the object of interpretation and characteristics of the SPACE concept leads to secondary (evaluative) functions in space adjectives.

Keywords:  anthropocentrism, cognitive domain, interconceptual links, relational profiling, conceptual integration, inference
