Abstract
The article focuses on the problems of limitations and distinguishing between different kinds of phrases, which may denote action or state, be idiomatic phrases, phraseological units, set expressions or analytical verbs. Attention is paid to the laws and rules of composition of the components within the structure of analytical verbs, as well as to the peculiarities of their formation and functioning.
The article also touches on the functional differences of analytical verbs belonging to different groups, due to their semantic relations, general semantics, the way of composition, the structure of the components and their importance.
