Abstract:
Patent right texts are completely focused on cognitive maintenances¬ transfer. In most cases their form is extremely stereotypic and conventiolised. In texts of various genres cognitive, or informative, information represents objective data on an external world and also realizes a referential complex and modalities in a broad sense. Data on a person if he/she appears an object of consideration can be concerned in this case. It is possible to distinguish cognitive information by making out its means. In any language these means provide presence of three cognitive information parameters: objectivity, abstractiveness and density (compression).
The text beginnings, the reference, sequence of statements, ending of documents in each of compared languages submit to strict rules of rhetoric and abound in clichés that unite algorithms of action in respect of cognitive information coding and decoding. Use of such language stamps is necessary to carry out adequate transfer of cognitive structures in certain language system and promote to achieve adequate illocutionary aim of perlocutionary effect.
In the heading complex representing a strong position of the text of the patent, special algorithms or «action schemes» are being verbalized while in the text processing, “a categorization of elements of sense” of all text reality takes place. The basic markers of cognitive information in texts of patents are terminological units, herein the regulated structure promotes ordering and maximum representation of cognitive information. Drawings being the basic nonverbal markers of cognitive information in texts of patents, carry the greatest functional yield in representing the cognitive substantial beginning in patent law texts. However various suprasegmental means of representing cognitive information can also be presented by many other things, for example, a font variation, graphic segmentation of the text, its arrangement on a paper, coding and decoding.
On the whole, the authors argue, the coding, decoding, interpreting and transfer of cognitive information in the texts of a patent law are carried out both at the level of lexicon, grammar and syntax, and at the level of cognitive structures representing scientific knowledge in the text.
