Abstract
The article reviews the issues of concepts organization and interaction within world maps. We argue that each concept has a certain number of adjacent concepts with which it has established stable cognitive bonds in the course of historical evolution. We focus attention on the reconstruction of the cognitive bonds based on the study of the semantics of Proto-Indo-European roots *magh- – "force, ability, help", *pótis- – "force", *wal- – "be strong" and their derivatives that the concept FORCE es-tablishes within the Proto-Indo-European world map. As the adjacent concepts are defined, the specific features of the relations between them are described. Then we discuss the peculiarities of the dynamics of the defined cognitive bonds between the adjacent concepts in daughter conceptual spheres and characteristics of verbal representation in cognate languages, particularly, Russian, English, Latin and Spanish. We then describe how the establishment of one cognitive bond may trigger generation of other cognitive bonds and lead to the formation of a more complex structure based on them which we define as a conceptual knot. The role of cognitive bonds in derivational processes and meaning development is analyzed.

Keywords:  world view, concept FORCE, meaning, dynamics, motivation, cognitive bonds, conceptual knot, Indo-European languages
